Portrait of Arthur Pendleton

Background and AI-trading analysis lens

An Oxford graduate and an old-school City strategist, Arthur Pendleton spent two decades analysing global markets from London’s financial district. His work starts with the real economy: freight routes, commodity flows, central-bank policy, and the international agreements that hold trade together.

Pendleton has little patience for cryptocurrencies, venture-fuelled bubbles, or AI start-ups that cannot explain a viable business model. Where Julian Vance might argue that Bitcoin represents the future, Arthur is more likely to ask what that future costs once tanker freight through the Suez Canal is taken into account.

He serves as a deliberate counterweight to technological optimism. His writing is dense, foundational, and unemotional, grounding market narratives in material constraints rather than momentum or hype.
